Stroh Brewery
Detroit, United States
1850 · brewery founded
Founded by Bernhard Stroh, a brewer's son from Kirn, Germany, whose lion emblem comes from Kirn's Kyrburg Castle. Julius Stroh later introduced 'fire-brewing' over direct flame, a long-time selling point. The company was broken up in 2000, and Pabst now owns the Stroh's brand.
