Narragansett

1890 · brewery founded

Founded in Cranston, it was New England's largest lager producer in the mid-20th century. Red Sox announcer Curt Gowdy popularized the slogan 'Hi, Neighbor, have a 'Gansett!', and Quint crushes a can of it in Jaws (1975). The original brewery closed in 1983; the brand was revived in 2005 and its lager is contract-brewed by Genesee.
