Co-founded by Prussian immigrant Jacob Leinenkugel and John Miller, it is the oldest business in town and one of the oldest breweries in the US. Miller Brewing bought it in 1988 but kept the family in charge. Summer Shandy, added in 2007, took the brand national; it is now part of Molson Coors.
