1954 · first brewed

Brewing at Tongerlo Abbey ended in the First World War, when the occupiers seized its copper kettles. In 1954 a Geel brewer started making a beer under the abbey's name, and Haacht has brewed it since 1990. Tongerlo Blond was named the world's best beer at the 2014 World Beer Awards.
