Hamont-Achel, Belgium
1998 · brewery founded
Monks first brewed at Achel in 1852, but German troops took the brewery's copper in 1917. Brewing resumed in 1998 with help from Westmalle and Rochefort. Achel was the smallest Belgian Trappist brewery until 2021, when the last monks left and the beer lost its Trappist label.
