Homebrewers Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi built their first brewhouse from old dairy equipment and scrap metal. The first Pale Ale was brewed in November 1980, and Celebration IPA followed in 1981. Sierra Nevada is one of the pioneers of American craft beer and is still privately owned.
