Started when the four Rodenbach brothers invested in a small brewery. In the 1870s Eugene Rodenbach learned in England to age beer in oak barrels and blend old with young beer, the method behind its sour Flemish red ales. Sold to Palm in 1998, it is now owned by the Dutch Swinkels family.
