Orval
Brewed by Abbaye d'Orval in Florenville, Belgium

Abbaye d'Orval
Florenville, Belgium
Trappist
1931 · brewery founded
Monks brewed at Orval long before the abbey burned in 1793. The present brewery opened in 1931 to help pay for rebuilding the abbey. Architect Henry Vaes designed both the new abbey and the skittle-shaped bottle and glass. A wild yeast called Brettanomyces and dry hopping give the beer its distinctive taste.
