The brewery started in 1822 on a farm in Vlezenbeek, and in 1930 the family gave up farming to brew only kriek and gueuze. It makes lambic by spontaneous fermentation and uses it as the base for all its fruit beers. Its kriek is made with cherry juice, which makes it sweeter than traditional versions. It is still family-run.
