1959 · first brewed
Columbia Brewery began brewing Kokanee lager in 1959, naming it after the Kokanee Glacier in the Kootenays. Labatt bought the brewery in 1974, so the beer is now part of AB InBev. Labatt-era ads made a Sasquatch the brand's mascot, and a Sasquatch figure appears on its bottles and cans.
