Founder Shaun Hill first brewed beer for a high-school science fair and worked at breweries in Denmark before opening his own in Vermont's rural Northeast Kingdom. RateBeer named it the best new brewery in the world in 2011 and the best brewery in the world eight times between 2012 and 2020.
