The Verhaeghe brewery in Vichte dates from 1875. Duchesse de Bourgogne is a Flanders red ale that blends an 8-month-old beer with one aged 18 months in oak. It is named after Mary of Burgundy (1457–1482), daughter of Charles the Bold.
