Zipfer

1858 · brewery founded

Friedrich Hofmann started brewing in Zipf in 1842, but the official founding date is 20 July 1858, when the Viennese banker Franz Schaup bought the brewery at auction. In the Second World War its cellars were taken over for a concentration subcamp working on V-2 rocket engines. It now belongs to Brau Union (Heineken).
