Augustiner
Brewed by Augustiner in Munich, Germany

Augustiner
Munich, Germany
1328 · brewery founded
The brewery is first mentioned in 1328, at the monastery of the Augustinian friars, who supplied the Wittelsbach court with beer until the Hofbräuhaus opened in 1589. A charitable foundation holds a majority stake, making it the only one of Munich's six big breweries that is independent. At Oktoberfest it still taps beer from wooden barrels.
