Started by homebrewers Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers, first as Canal Street Brewing, named after the old name of a Grand Rapids street. It grew into one of the largest US craft breweries with beers like All Day IPA and the bourbon-barrel stout KBS. Spain's Mahou San Miguel bought 30% in 2014 and a majority in 2019.
