Lion Red

1907 · first brewed

Cans and bottles give 1907 as the year the beer was established. It was officially called Lion Beer until the mid-1980s, when Lion Breweries adopted the name drinkers already used, after its red label. At 4% it is a classic session beer, and it is a long-time sponsor of New Zealand rugby league.
