Hansa

1891 · brewery founded

Waldemar Stoud Platou founded Hansa in 1891 by buying a small local brewery, and the name refers to Bergen's Hanseatic past. It won a Grand Prix at the 1900 Paris World Exposition. It merged with Borg in 1997 to form Hansa Borg, which has been fully owned by Denmark's Royal Unibrew since 2022.
