Brothers Bruce and Scott Williams started with Fraoch, a heather ale based on a 17th-century Gaelic recipe and flavoured with heather flowers and bog myrtle. They later revived other historic ales made with Scottish ingredients such as Scots pine shoots and seaweed. They are the last brewery left in Alloa, once Scotland's brewing capital.
