1870 · brewery founded

Willem Geenen, a farmer and syrup maker who trained as a brewer in Worms, founded the brewery in 1870. A stone marked 'WG 1870' is still in the brewhouse wall. Still owned by the Geenen family, now in its fifth generation, it became a Royal Warrant holder in 1996.
