The monks of Koningshoeven Abbey opened a brewery to fund the monastery and charity. Since 1999 it has been run by a subsidiary of Bavaria (now Swinkels), which briefly cost it the 'Authentic Trappist Product' logo. It makes the world's only Trappist witbier and a barrel-aged Quadrupel.
