1886 · brewery founded

Johann Kienle founded the brewery in 1886. It took the Erdinger name only in 1949 under Franz Brombach, who had bought it 14 years earlier, and it is still owned by the Brombach family. It is the world's largest wheat beer brewery, and since 2015 it has marketed its alcohol-free beer as a sports drink.
