On 1 October 1908, Ernesto Günther opened a Cusco branch of the Arequipa-based German brewery Günther & Tidow. It is the Peruvian beer with the widest international presence. Today it belongs to Backus, part of AB InBev, and is also brewed in Lima and Arequipa.
