Compañía Salus, the mineral-water company, began brewing in 1936 under the name Cerveza Serrana and renamed it Patricia in 1956. It is one of the few beers made with natural mineral water, from the Salus spring in the hills near Minas. Ambev took over Salus's beer business in 2000.
