The name comes from ožujak, Croatian for March, traditionally the best month for brewing. The 1892 on the label is the founding year of Zagrebačka pivovara, Croatia's first industrial brewery; the recipe itself came from the Lobe brewery in Nova Gradiška. The brewery is now part of Molson Coors.
