Murree Brewery
Rawalpindi, Pakistan
1860 · brewery founded
Founded by the British in 1860 at Ghora Gali, near the hill station of Murree, to supply British troops and officials. Water shortages in the 1920s moved most brewing to its current site, and a Parsi family, the Bhandaras, has controlled it since the 1940s. It is Pakistan's oldest and largest maker of alcoholic drinks.
