KEO, short for 'Cyprus Wine Company' in Greek, was formed in 1927 as a winemaker in the Limassol area. It started brewing its Pilsner-style KEO lager in 1951 with expertise from Czechoslovakia. The company also makes Commandaria wine, brandy and zivania.
