First brewed at the Ortega brewery by Carl Walter Steinvorth, a businessman said to be Central America's first orthodontist. Costa Ricans call it 'Águila' or 'Aguilita' after the heraldic imperial eagle on its label. It is now made by Florida Ice & Farm (FIFCO), a company founded in 1908 by the Jamaican-born Lindo brothers.
