Gulder

1970 · first brewed

Nigerian Breweries, partly owned by Heineken, launched Gulder in 1970 as a stronger beer and, unusually for the time, sold it in a brown bottle. After complaints that it caused headaches, it was withdrawn and reintroduced with a new recipe in 1972. The brand is known for the TV adventure show Gulder Ultimate Search.
