The Flag name was created in Morocco on 4 October 1960 by Brasseries et Glacières Internationales (BGI), then the main shareholder of Brasseries du Maroc, and the Flag Spéciale recipe was developed in 1973. Now owned by the Castel Group, Flag is also sold across much of West Africa.
