The Miercurea Ciuc brewery opened in 1974 in Romania's 'cold pole', the country's coldest town, in the Székely Land. It was privatised in 1994 and has been part of Heineken since 2003. It now brews most of Heineken Romania's beers, including Ciuc Premium.
