Chang went on sale in March 1995, brewed in Ayutthaya province. Its name means "elephant" in Thai, and the logo shows two elephants facing each other. It soon took the market lead from Singha. Its maker, ThaiBev, was formed in 2003 and is controlled by billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi.
