Quöllfrisch is one of the Appenzeller beers brewed by the Locher family, who took over the brewery in 1886. A local brewery until the mid-1990s, it grew on specialty beers and made the first Swiss beer with Bio Suisse organic certification. It is now Switzerland's third-largest brewery.
