1963 · brewery founded
Angkor Beer was first brewed in 1963 at a state brewery built with French help. The Khmer Rouge closed and destroyed the plant. A Malaysian company bought it in 1991 and renamed it Cambrew, and brewing resumed in 1992. The beer is named after the Angkor temples.
