Launched on 22 April 1913 in Barranquilla by the Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas, it first became popular on the Caribbean coast before spreading nationwide; its imperial-eagle logo dates from the 1960s. Now made by Bavaria (AB InBev), it is Colombia's second best-selling beer.
