A. Le Coq was founded in Prussia in 1807 by a Huguenot family. From London, Albert Le Coq exported Imperial stout to Russia. In 1913 the brand took over Tartu's Tivoli brewery, whose roots go back to 1800. Finland's Olvi bought it in 1997, and A. Le Coq Premium is Estonia's best-selling beer.
