Sabeco traces its roots to a small brewery opened in Saigon in 1875 by the Frenchman Victor Larue. 333 succeeded '33' (Ba Muoi Ba), a beer that was popular with American soldiers during the Vietnam War. Thailand's ThaiBev took majority control of Sabeco in 2017–2018.
