Bhutan Brewery opened in December 2006 in the Pasakha industrial estate. Its best-known beer, Druk 11000, is a strong lager of about 8% ABV. 'Druk' means 'thunder dragon', the Bhutanese name for the country. Malt and hops are imported, and some beer is exported, mainly to north-east India.
